The Best Way to Clean Your Silhouette Cutting Mat

Cutting machines are an investment and like most people I'm always looking for ways to stretch my crafty dollars. One way is extending the life of the cutting mat.

Supplies:

Dish Soap

Lint Free Towel

Water

While I do scrape off the mat after each use, it doesn't get all the small scraps. From time to time, I have to give my mat a good washing.

Before

Wet the mat and add a little dab of dish soap. Use a sponge or a lint free towel to lightly scrub the mat.

Look how easily everything rubs off the mat!

After a good rinse, the mat looks good as new. Use a dry lint free cloth to blot the mat and then leave it to air dry.

After air drying, the mat will return to feeling tacky. I've washed my mats multiple times and I'm still able to use them.
