Do you struggle with making masculine cards? This has never come easy to me. Maybe because I like making flowers and hearts the most. I’ve finally come up with the perfect card for that handyman in your life. This tape measure box card is very easy to assemble once it’s all cut out. The finished card measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches when laying flat and fits in your A2 envelope.
There are some intricate cuts with tick marks on the measuring tape and the cutout words. I suggest experimenting with using the overcut button on the Silhouette and slowing down the speed for a cleaner cut.
Supplies:
Start off by paper piecing the tape Measure panels and the strips. Please note the back strip will be laid on the opposite side so it is visible when the box is assembled.
The folded card can be placed on the front or the back. I put mine on the back.
The thin rectangle is to be placed in the fold of the card for added stability.
I used a yellow sharpie marker to sketch out “no one measures up” on the inner layer inside the card. I think this would look great foiled or heat embossed as well.
All that’s left now is to put the box together. I like to put the inner layer so the side flaps are flush to the back of the side panels for added dimension.
Add the tape measure panels to the front and back of the card. Only put the glue on the bottom half of the panel so it sticks to the box.
Just like that your masculine Tape Measure Box Card is complete!
